FAQs

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are a semi-permanent option, where a qualified lash technician applies an individual lash or a fan of lashes to each individual natural lash with a lash adhesive. Because lash extensions don't come in one strip they are customisable and look real, giving you a fresh natural or fuller and more dramatic look.

Can I get lash extensions wet?

Yes, you just need to ensure you keep your new lash extensions dry for 24hrs after being applied. Lash extensions are very popular for summer holidays, as you can have a fresh mascara look even by the poolside without risking mascara run or panda eyes.

Can you wear mascara with lash extensions?

We would not recommend wearing mascara with lash extensions as the process of applying and removing mascara will damage your extensions. Mascara should not be needed with lash extensions as the adhesive used is black and as such gives you the fresh mascara look.

Will lash extensions damage my own natural lashes?

There isnt any evidence that suggests lash extensions applied by a trained lash technician damages the natural lashes. However, make sure you use a trained lash technician to keep that risk to a minimum. Don't be afraid to ask to see a technician's training certificate.

Should a lash technician be insured?

Whilst it isn't a legal requirement, Zoe is fully insured and it is best practice for any beauty therapist to be insured for the treatments they administer. Again don't be afraid to ask to see a lash tecnician's insurance certificate.

How long do lash extensions last?

With proper aftercare (see aftercare question) a full set of lashes should last 2-3 weeks although an infill appointment is recommended after 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes looking their best.

What aftercare is needed to keep my lashes looking their best?

The key to maximising how long your lash extensions last is aftercare. Your lash technician will give you aftercare advice to ensure you know how to look after your lashes, such as: Gently brush your lashes every morning with a lash brush Do not allow oil based products to touch your lashes e.g. makeup remover or other beauty products.
